Yes you would need to have obtained the required English competency test band in
order to qualify for the relocation process. This could be IELTS or OET
This refers to the individual and total score of an English competency test that is set by
each country as a minimum criteria for eligibility to join the professional body.
*NOTE: You can achieve the required mark across two test sittings if:
OET The required band score for the OET is: 1. At least a grade C+ in the writing section 2. At least a grade B in the reading, listening and speaking sections. 3. At least a grade C+ in the writing section and at least a grade B in the reading, listening and speaking sections in either of the two test sittings.
*NOTE: You can achieve the required mark across two test sittings if:
- You sit the tests within six months of each other
- You’re tested in all four sections at the same time
- All scores in both sittings are above 6.5, and
- You achieve at least 6.5 in the writing section and at least 7 in the reading, listening and speaking sections in either of the two test sittings*
OET The required band score for the OET is: 1. At least a grade C+ in the writing section 2. At least a grade B in the reading, listening and speaking sections. 3. At least a grade C+ in the writing section and at least a grade B in the reading, listening and speaking sections in either of the two test sittings.
OET is the English language test for healthcare professionals. It is accepted as a form of
English profficiency in the UK, the US, Ireland, Australia, New Zealand,Dubai, Singapore and
more and can be used in place of the IELTS
Healthcare professionals only. Nurses, Midwives, Doctors, Pharmacist etc
Tbe Academic test is strictly for professionals needing professional registration and
academias. If you are a nurse, midwife, pharmacist seaking registration or a student seeking
an admission, the academic IELTS is the only acceptable form of IELTS.
The General training is for any other English competency requirement.
You will need to have the required English competency band score (IELTS/OET), Start
a registration with the NMC UK, get verifies with your home regulatory body, pass the
CBT and will need to pass an OSCEs on arrival to the UK. Please do check our article

Ireland to either sit the RCSI CBT and OSCEs exams or complete a 6 weeks adaptation

The CBT is the computer based test taken to register with the NMC for UK relocation. It is
done in a recognized person vue centre and can be written in your home country
The RCSI theory test is similar to the CBT but only written in Ireland.
This is an objective structured clinical examination. Apparently a practical exam consisting of
several assessment and clinical skill stations. It can only be writen in the UK or Ireland as
applicable.
The UK: Yes you can but in most cases it is advisable to travel lone first, get your exams out of
the way, get sorted before bring your family. As it could be an overwhelming experience. Your
employers would still give you a sponsorship letter that covers your family.
Ireland: Yes but not immediately as your immediate visa covers you to travel for exam
purpose. Again when you pass your exams and settles, which happens quite quickly you can
then apply for a family reunion visa.
Yes, there are loads of CPD courses your employers provide you with, others you can source
yourself for even free. However, if you are going into formal education you will need to fund
your fees.
